XAVIER UNIVERSITY WOUND CARE CASE STUDY
The subject is a 21-year-old female college cross-country runner who competed in a summer triathlon on 7/23/01. She fell off her bike during the race, landing on her left side and sustaining abrasions to the left shoulder, left elbow (2), left hip near the ASIS, and left knee (2). She was given a sterile water scrub and Neosporin at the event’s first aid booth immediately after the race and received no other treatment until she arrived on campus. Product application by the Xavier University Athletic Training Staff consisted of:
Granulation was measured at 0.5 centimeters per day by the Xavier University Athletic Training Staff.
